1960 Cessna 210 For Sale!

We're selling our 210 in order to purchase something with 4 seats that can have floats!  This is a terrific family aircraft: a true 4 seat airplane, with plenty of room for gear.  Our family has flown this aircraft on many long cross-country flights, including Texas to Alaska two times, plus extensive flying throughout the Rockies and between Texas and Georgia.  It is a stable IFR platform and has excellent STOL capabilities (we recently flew it in a STOL clinic with a medium load and were able to takeoff and land in 450 feet using maximum performance techniques!), and with 260 HP for only 4 seats it is an excellent climber and mountainous terrain flyer.  The low-time airframe is a plus, with relatively low time on the engine and prop as well.  I was easily able to train and take the checkrides for both my Instrument and Commercial ratings in this airplane. Although it is a 210 model, these early 4-seat models look and fly more like retractable gear 182s, though my airplane is not heavy on the controls like 182s often are.  In addition the fuel-injected engine means no worries about carb icing as with 182s (and the Gamijectors give you significant fuel savings too!).

Price: $35,000

Performance

Cruise is generally in the 135 to 160 MPH range depending on power settings (50-65%).  With the Gamijectors, normal leaning runs 10 to 12 GPH, while operating Lean of Peak (about 50% power) you can get down to 8 GPH for long-haul cross country flights.  The aircraft has 55 gallons usable, thus the Gamis are a valuable fuel-stretcher for long wilderness legs where fuel availability is in doubt.  Max gross is 2900 pounds, empty weight is 1810, for a useful load of 1090 pounds; subtract 330 pounds for full fuel and you have 760 pounds for passengers and baggage, making this a true 4 seat airplane including gear!  The baggage area is placarded for 120 pounds.  The aircraft has a very wide CG range, so you are much more likely to exceed the max gross than to load it out of CG.
